I've been in this industry for a while now and if I haven't heard your horror story, I've heard something similar. For some reason, almost every client I have has had a bad experience when it comes to their previous website, or trying to get a website. It just seems to run with the territory I guess. All to often clients get beat up because they don't understand our lingo or our methods. I'll admit it now, trying to find a website designer would be as fun as getting all my teeth pulled out!
Yeah, it'd be great to have you as a client, but I'm aware that one size doesn't fit all. My website should give you the necesary information on determining whether I'd be a good fit for your needs...and if nothing else, maybe you can go into the search for your web designer better informed and prepared.
I have some resources available to aid you in understanding the website design process. Not the technical how-to of it all, but the part you need to be concerned about, the "WHAT" part.
What do want it to look like?
What is the point of your website?
What do you want to accomplish?
...I can take care of the HOWs.
